What Happens at a Show?

Thank you for your interest in Jump for Joy Music for your school. Wiley has been honored to play music on the Disney Channel with an original composition, and was featured in the 1-2-3 Go! section on the cover of the San Jose Mercury Arts and Entertainment Section. He has even played at Carnegie Hall!

Jump for Joy Music is a cooperative learning experience that teaches teamwork skills to the children as it introduces several different musical instruments.

We pack a lot into a 40-45 minute presentation!

We start with flute (Wiley is classically trained), which is a fantastic way to invite children into near-perfect concentration on the event at hand. After they have played their “virtual flutes” with Wiley, and after a lot of encouraging laughter, he shares harmonica with the children in an improvisational experience (Wiley has played harmonica with the legendary Yardbirds). This includes singing, rhythm exercises, and more fun!

Then Wiley brings out the guitar for a big group sing-along, and proceeds to do squiggly songs to suit their energy level. One of the highlights of the show is a sign language song by Kevin Roth called “You Are You.” It is traditionally a favorite of the teachers.
